   HINXHILL

St Mary's the Virgin

Hinxhill is a hamlet to the east of Ashford, Kent, England. It is part of the Wye with Hinxhill parish, located near Willesborough, Brook and Wye.

So discreet that most travellers pass by without realizing the existence of this tiny village. Just a farm, a large and rather aggressively white mansion and a church looking across to Wye Down. Early spring is the time to come here when the churchyard is completely carpeted with snowdrops and the lambs are in the fields. The church is of minor interest, but the setting is the thing. Peace and quiet, so elusive in the South-East, are here.
